From time to time you may want to send out a document to your members or supporters- anything from meeting notes, to "Print Your Own" posters. There are a couple of ways you can do this, but attachments are not one of them. In this guide we'll go through the different ways to send documents to activists.
Using The Action Network Files Feature
What Can I Use The Action Network Files Feature For?
Using the Action Network Files feature is useful for friction-free sharing of documents. Anybody with the link will be able to view the document without having to log in. All files uploaded to Action Network are publicly available, and so can be found by anyone, so you should avoid uploading confidential or sensitive information. However, it's ideal for sharing documents that you're happy for anybody to see- like your constitution.
How To Upload Files & Get A Link To Share
1. From your Action Network Group click on Actions on the top navigation bar.
2. From the dropdown menu that appears, move your cursor over Files, and click on the plus (+) icon.
3. On the page that appears click on Browse for a file, and select the file you want to upload.
4. Give your file a name, and a description. Descriptions are optional, but are useful in helping other find what they need.
5. Click on the button marked ADD FILE.
6. You'll be taken to your list of files, which will show your newly created file, along with options to create folders, view download stats, edit, download, and show or hide file descriptions.
7. Click on the link icon to copy the link address. You'll see a pop-up with the link, which you can copy, and paste into emails to share the file.
Using Green Spaces
When Should I Use Green Spaces?
Green Spaces is useful if you want to share documents but don't want them to be widely available. Although documents from Spaces can be downloaded and shared elsewhere, only those with a current GPEW membership will be able to login to Spaces to obtain the files.

Why Can't I Just Send An Attachment?
Mass emailing an attachment is bad practice, and would look pretty spammy to mail providers. This could result in fewer people seeing the email than you intended. It's also pretty inconsiderate (and bad for the environment), to clutter up mailboxes with large files.
