What Is An Imprint And Do I Need One?
An imprint is intended to inform the public who is responsible for political campaign material to aid transparency. It's made up of the name and address of the campaigner, along with who they're campaigning on behalf of. It's mandatory to include this information in printed campaign literature. As of November 2023 it is a legal requirement in England & Wales to include an imprint on digital campaign materials. All WordPress sites issued by GPEW include an imprint, which will appear at the bottom of your site.
How Do I Update My WordPress Site's Imprint?
1. From your WordPress Dashboard select Appearance, followed by Customise.
2. On the following page select Site Identity from the menu on the left of the screen.
3. Enter the Name and Address you'd like to add to your Imprint in the relevant fields. You do not need to add the Imprint text as this will be added automatically.
4. Click the Publish button at the top of the page.
