How To Issue Refunds, Re-Issue Receipts or Convert One-Off Donations To Recurring Gifts

You can view and manage an Activist's donations via their Activist Record. Simply view their Activist Record and navigate to the box titled Donation History. Here you'll see a summary of their donations, including their Total Donations, Highest Contribution, and a list of individual transactions.

How To Re-Issue A Receipt

If an Activist requests a receipt for a previous transaction you can easily send one by navigating to the transaction they need a receipt for and clicking on the receipt icon. You won't receive a confirmation message, but the page will refresh and a receipt will be sent to the Donor.

How To Convert A One-Off Donation To A Recurring Donation

1. Navigate to the one-off transaction that you want to convert into a recurring donation. Click on the icon of two rounded arrows.

2. On the following page simply select the recurring frequency, and the date the first payment should be attempted and click on the button marked MAKE RECURRING.

3. You'll receive a confirmation message, along with a warning message. Make sure you're happy to proceed, before clicking on the CONFIRM button.

4. You'll be returned to the Activist Record where a confirmation message will be shown at the top of the screen.

How To Refund A Donation

1. If you need to refund a donation, navigate the donation and select the refund icon.

2. You'll receive a confirmation message. Check you're refunding the correct donation and click PROCESS REFUND.

3. A second confirmation message will appear. To complete the refund click on CONFIRM.

4. You'll see a confirmation message in the top right-hand side of the screen. The refund is now processed.

The refund will be issued to the same card the Activist used to make a donation. Depending on the type of card used the refund can take several days to appear. In some cases it is instant, but please make sure the donor is aware that they may have to wait to receive the refund.

Managing Recurring Donations

Refunding a single donation will not cancel any recurring contributions that have been set up. To find out how to manage recurring donations on behalf of an Activist check this guide: Amending Or Cancelling Donations Through Action Network.
