How To Schedule An Email In Action Network

What Does It Mean To Schedule An Email?

Email scheduling is a way to prepare an email in advance and schedule it to go out at a later time. This can be useful if you want an email to arrive in the morning, but the only time you have to work on it is late evening. With email scheduling, you can work to ensure emails are sent at the optimum time for opening without having to make sure someone is available to click the send button at that time.

How To Schedule An Email

1. Create your email as normal, add your targeting and you'll be presented with the Preview page. At the bottom of the page you'll see a yellow bar with some buttons. Click on the button labelled SCHEDULE EMAIL.



2. You'll then see options for SEND AT SPECIFIC TIME and SEND BY TIME ZONE. Make your selection and follow the remaining steps below as appropriate.



Option One: Send At Specific Time

Sending at a specific time will schedule your email to be sent to all recipients at the same time. 
3. Use the calendar picker to select the time and date you'd like your email to be sent and click on CONFIRM & SCHEDULE.
The time zone used for email scheduling is US Eastern Time. To convert times you can use a tool like this one.



Option Two: Send By Time Zone

Sending by time zone will schedule the email to be sent at a particular time in each time zone. So scheduling an email for 3PM would cause it to be sent at 3PM GMT/BST for UK recipients, and 3PM Pacific Time for recipients based in California. As most, if not all recipients will be UK based this can simply be used as a shortcut to avoid calculating time differences when sending at a specific time.

3. Use the calendar picker to select the time and date you'd like your email to be sent and click on CONFIRM & SCHEDULE.
