How To Set Drag & Drop For Email, And Query Mode For Reports As Your Default
What is Drag & Drop Mode?
Action Network offers two ways of editing emails: Visual/HTML and Drag & Drop. Drag & Drop does what it says on the tin. It allows your to drag elements such as images, text, headers and buttons into your email to create visually striking and consistent email formatting. It comes with a robust set of editing tools so you can really create a strong brand identity for your local party. You can also save layouts to use time and time again.
What is Query Mode?
Query Mode is the preferred method of running reports or targeting members, but it's not the default mode in Action Network. It allows you to create reports, queries and targeting rules based on certain conditions. You can combine different rules to capture different groups based on any criteria you can think of. Perhaps you want to see who viewed a particular email but didn't click any of the links- or anyone who signed a petition who has also donated to your local party. The possibilities are limited only by your imagination- but the most common queries are the ones used to identify and target your members.
How To Set Drag & Drop & Query Mode As Your Default
1. Click on your profile picture or icon in the top right of Action Network. A pop-out menu will appear. Click on Edit Your Profile.
2. Near the bottom right of your profile you'll see two toggle switches, one each for Query Mode and Email Editor Mode. Click on both of these toggle switches and they'll turn green.
3. Click the SAVE CHANGES button just below these two options. Your default for emails and reports targeting and creation will now be set to Query Mode and Drag & Drop.
Where Have My Email Wrappers Gone?
Email Wrappers are used to apply a brand identity to your emails but aren't as versatile as emails created in the Drag & Drop Editor. Instead of Wrappers Drag & Drop supports Email Layouts which allow you to create a reusable email template that can be applied to any email in the Drag & Drop Editor.
