Using & Customising GPEW-Issued Page Wrappers

Using & Customising GPEW-Issued Page Wrappers

To support Action Network groups in maintaining a consistent brand, the Green Party Digital Support team will occasionally release page wrappers which can be customised depending on your needs. If you're not familiar with HTML and CSS then customising these wrappers may seem intimidating, but the changes you need to make are simple.

Where To Find Page Wrappers Shared By GPEW

To find all of your page wrappers, click on Details at the top of your Action Network Group.

Screenshot of the Start Organising menu, showing options for Actions, People, Details, and Support.

From the menu that appears click on Page Wrappers.

On the next page, you'll see a list of all of your page wrappers. You'll be able to identify any shared by the Digital Support Team as they'll start with "GPEW Issue".

Editing The Wrapper

To access the editor simply click on the Edit icon.

On the next page you'll see two text areas, one is the Page Wrapper Head, and one the Foot. This basically means the stuff that goes above, and below the main content of your Action. It may look complicated but we'll use the line numbers that you can see on the left of the text to help you navigate.

Please note: The line numbers we'll be referring to apply to the unedited wrapper. If you've made any changes the  line numbers may no longer correspond.

Essential Customisation

The first thing you'll need to change is your group name. You can find this at line 252.

Simply replace the text "Replace This With Local Party Name" with the name of your group. As the Green Party name appears in the image above this we recommend replacing this text with, for example, Binglethorpe, and not Binglethorpe Green Party.

Imprint

Within the Foot, you'll find the imprint text at Line 3. We recommend updating this so it reflects your group.

Privacy Policy

Line 8 include a link to the GPEW privacy policy by default. If your group has its own privacy policy you should replace this link, with a link to your own privacy policy. Simply replace https://www,greenparty.org.uk/privacy.html with a link to your own privacy policy.

Available Wrappers

There is currently one wrapper available to use. You'll find this listed as GPEW Issue #1: White On Fair Green.

Extra Help

We recognise that editing the HTML can be intimidating, even when following this guide. If you would prefer that we make the changes for you simply raise a support ticket including the changes that you'd like us to make. We can't create bespoke designs for each group, but we're happy to edit the party name, imprint, and links if you need us to.
If you've found this guide helpful click on the thumbs up below, or use the thumbs down icon to send us feedback so that we can update this guide.
