There are two places where you can check on the Administrators of your Action Network Group. The first is from the Administrators tab from your Group Management menu. This will give you the name of your organisers, and if you have the required permissions you'll be able to see what permissions they have been given. This gives you a basic overview of who your Administrators are, and what they can do in Action Network.
The second place is in the Network tab. Here you will see all the Groups that fall under your parent group and be able to download a list of administrators.
Action Network holds a lot of personal, identifying, and potentially sensitive data on our members. As an administrator, you have a responsibility to ensure that this information is kept secure, and access is limited to only those who have a legitimate interest in viewing or using it.
It is important that your list of administrators is checked regularly. As an absolute minimum, it should be checked at committee handover or whenever someone commences or steps down from a role. Ideally it should be checked more frequently than this.
Does This Apply To Local Parties, Or Just Regional Parties?
This applies to all Groups within Action Network. Local parties will only be able to access information on their own administrators, whereas regional parties will be able to access administrator data for all local parties within the region.
How To Access The Administrator Report
1. From your Group's Action Network page select Network from the lower menu.
2. If there are any Child Groups beneath your Action Network Group they'll be listed here. If there are none listed then this means there are no Child Groups beneath your Action Network Group. Beneath the list of Action Network Groups you'll see a link labelled Download Administrator Report. Click on this link.
3. A download of a CSV file will begin. This file can be opened in Excel, Sheets, or whichever application you use to work with spreadsheets. When you open it you'll see columns for first_name, last_name, email, last_login, and groups.
The first thing you should check is that everybody on the list actually needs administrator access to your group. If there is anybody who doesn't require access they should be removed as an administrator immediately.
The second thing to check is the date of their last login. If it has been some time since they last logged in then they should be removed. If they require access again in future then they can easily be added back to your Group with the required permissions.
You should also check for duplicates. It is not unusual for an admin to be added several times, using different email addresses. There is only ever a need for an Administrator to have one Action Network account, and so it's worth discussing with them which Administrator accounts will be removed from your Group.
