How To Hide The Join Button From Your WordPress Site

How To Hide The Join Button From Your WordPress Site

The local party WordPress theme includes three buttons in the top right hand corner. Discuss, Donate, and Join. We don't recommend hiding the Join button for local and regional party sites, but we recognise that the wording may cause confusion when this link appears on the sites of liberation, and other self-organised groups. In this guide we'll show you how to hide the Join button from your WordPress site.

It's a good idea to make sure you update the Discuss and Donate buttons on your site. If you haven't done so yet, check out this guide: How To Change The Donate And Discuss Button Links In Your WordPress Site.

How To Hide The Join Button

1. From your WordPress dashboard move your mouse cursor over Appearance, and then click on Customise.

2. On the following page, click on Additional CSS.

3. In the text area that appears on the next screen paste in the following:
  1. .wrapper-gp-branding-strip .bg-gpred { display: none; }

4. After pasting in the additional CSS, you should see that the Join button no longer shows in your preview. Click on Publish to apply the change to your live site.
