Using & Customising GPEW-Issued Email Layouts

Using & Customising GPEW-Issued Email Layouts

To support Action Network groups in maintaining a consistent brand, the Green Party Digital Support team will occasionally release email layouts which can be customised depending on your needs. Email layouts use the same drag and drip editor as you should be used to using in email, so there's no extra technical knowledge needed.
If you haven't enabled Drag & Drop email by default check out this guide: How To Set Drag & Drop For Email, And Query Mode For Reports As Your Default.

Where To Find Email Layouts Shared By GPEW

To find all of your email layouts, click on Details at the top of your Action Network Group.

Screenshot of the Start Organising menu, showing options for Actions, People, Details, and Support.

From the menu that appears click on Email Wrappers & Layouts.

On the next page, you'll see a list of all of your email wrappers and layouts. You'll be able to identify any shared by the Digital Support Team as they'll start with "GPEW Issue".

Editing The Layout

To access the editor simply click on the Edit icon.

On the next page you'll see the standard Drag & Drop email editor. The email layout will include:
  1. The Green Party logo and name.
  2. A text block, including salutation.
  3. A button.
  4. A second text block.
  5. A divider, followed by social media icons and the national party imprint.

Customisation Options

Everything in the email layout can be customised, the same as any regular email. To edit elements of the layout just click on the element, and the relevant options will appear on the right of your screen. For example, clicking on the button in the email layout will open the options for that button.

The social links at the bottom of the email layout are linked to GPEW social media accounts. You can leave these as is, or edit the links to point to your local party social profiles.

The Imprint

As of November 2023 its a legal requirement to include an imprint on digital campaign materials. You can update the imprint, but you shouldn't remove it. You can find out more about the requirements on the Member's Site.

Adding Your Local Party Name To The Header Image

If you choose to you can include your local party name in the Header Image. To do this, click on the image, and in the options on the right select Apply Effects.

Then select Text from the options at the bottom.

Then simply edit and reposition the text.

At present it's not possible to enter hex values when selecting the colour of any added text, so you'll have to use the colour slider and get as close as you can. It's important to understand that if you use black text this won't show for email recipients who have dark mode enabled, so it's recommended you try to match the colour of the logo.

Using The Email Layout

To use your email layout simply select it from the email editor and click apply. You need to do this before adding any content to your email, else the layout will overwrite any changes you've made.
