When Will My Action Network Group Be Enrolled In Two Factor Authentication (2FA/MFA)?
As part of our commitment to securing the data of our members and supporters we will be rolling out two factor authentication (2FA) across Action Network Groups starting in August 2022. In this article you can find out when we plan to enable 2FA for your Action Network Group.
What Is Two Factor Authentication?
2-factor authentication is an added layer of security. When logging into Action Network with 2-Factor Authentication enabled you'll receive a code via a free App called Authy, or via SMS (Text Message). You'll be asked to enter this code when you log into Action Network to prove you are the person attempting to log in.
You may hear two factor authentication referred to as 2FA, MFA, or multi-factor authentication. You can find out more about two factor authentication in this guide: What Is 2-Factor Authentication & Should I Enable It?What If I've Already Enabled Two Factor Authentication?
If you've already enables 2FA, well done! There's nothing else you need to do, and you won't notice anything different. You may want to help your fellow administrators get set up if they have any issues.
How Do I Prepare For Two Factor Authentication?
You can wait until 2FA is enabled for your group, at which point you'll be prompted to register. You may want to enable 2FA for your own account in advance to limit any disruption on the day it's rolled out to your Action Network group. When Will Two Factor Authentication Be Enabled For My Group?
The below timeline is subject to change, and should be considered a guide only. We will not enable 2FA before the date for your group, but you and your fellow administrators can choose to enable this earlier. Regional Groups will be enrolled on the final day of each regional rollout.
